History
Nocatee dates back to 2005 when the PARC Group, local area developers who associate with Northeast Florida premier Intracoastal developments, created a concept of a smart growth planned community. There would be land set aside as a nature preserve and economic development space so that residents could live and work close to one another. this young community survived the national economic hit to the real estate market in 2008.
Within the last five years, Nocatee has sustained substantial growth with the development of a town center and a residential splash water park. The planned community now features 1,500 residential homes and is home to the largest Publix grocery store in northeast Florida. Baptist Health is in the process of building a primary care facility on its recent five-acre land purchase in Nocatee.
